First Destination Survey

The First Destination Survey (FDS) is a nationwide survey developed and managed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). The goal of the survey is to gather and measure data on students’ post-graduation outcomes within six months of graduation. Students take the survey through Handshake.

Annually, Career Development distributes the First Destination Survey (FDS) to gather post-graduation outcomes from undergraduate and graduate students.

FDS analyzes the following post-graduation outcomes:

  • Types of employment

  • Continuing education

  • Still seeking either employment or further education

  • Starting salary for those employed full time

The First Destination Survey takes about three to five minutes to complete. Class of 2025: Complete the First Destination Survey now! Any data you share will be aggregated and unidentifiable.

First Destination Survey data from 2023 and prior can be found on myChatham. Please note that myChatham is an internal tool so external partners will not be able to view past data reports. If you would like a copy of past data reports please email careers@chatham.edu. Moving forward, Executive Summaries for each class year will be posted on this webpage for easy access.
